This first blog post from yours truly will be as original as its title.

Trying to stay motivated and inspired during these trying times has been an uphill battle. That isn't to say that I am not appreciative of being able to stay safe at home with family, but finding ways to stay productive is a unique challenge. Trying to get out of bed after hours indulging Netflix has been a daily goal that I am failing constantly.

Graduating from film school last spring has left me stuck in a quarter life crisis (I'm 23 but let's push past that) state of mind. The only thing I want in this lifetime is to make a career in film. I have stories to tell and want to be a part of. I am privileged to have the support from family and friends thus far, but now that I am officially out in the wild I fear that luck will soon dry out. But the obvious fact is that though luck takes a generous percentage of "making it," it also comes down to skill.

Two months ago I started TRIBU TALES. As of now it's just a name that houses my short films. But in the coming years, I hope to build that with a team of creatives that aims to bring diverse, character-driven stories to the screen. I hope to hone in my skills as a storyteller and collaborator. Maybe having this blog as part of my production website is an odd choice, but much like with my hopes to continue to produce quality content, perhaps writing this out is a manner of speaking it into existence and that this dream will eventually manifest into reality.
